Damian McCarthy – Chief Executive Officer
Damian is the CEO and founder of TIGER ASSET GROUP in the Asia Pacific Region. He has over 23 years experience as a Chartered Accountant, restructuring professional and Executive Director of distressed asset advisory and disposal firms. Prior to founding TIGER ASSET GROUP, Damian was an Executive Director and Shareholder of Graysonline, a large Australian e-commerce participant. During his tenure, Damian was responsible for the Industrial Division, managing approximately 100 professionals and over $150M in annual sales. Damian’s restructuring career spanned some 10 years, the bulk of which was spent with Andersen and Ferrier Hodgson. Whilst at Andersen Damian: was seconded to NAB’s Specialised Business Services Division (SBS), managing a portfolio of problem loans and providing strategic advice to the Bank’s management; managed Investigating Accountant reports for major banks and numerous formal insolvency and restructuring projects; worked with the World Bank’s team in Bangkok to set up the Financial Restructuring Authority of Thailand (during the Asian Financial Crisis). In the last 15 years Damian has managed major restructuring and distressed asset disposal projects across a wide range of categories including: retail, e-commerce, engineering, printing, hospitality, tourism, civil construction, transport, mining, waste management and general manufacturing.
Ben Gibson – Director Restructuring & Finance
Ben is working as Director Restructuring & Finance for TIGER ASSET GROUP. He has over 19 years experience in the Valuation & Auction industry managing large scale asset valuation and sale projects on behalf of Banks, Insolvency Practitioners and large corporates across many industries.Prior to joining TIGER ASSET GROUP, Ben was the General Manager for the Western Australian operations of Graysonline, one of Australia’s leading e-commerce participants. In addition to management of day-to-day operations, Ben provided plant and equipment valuation and auction services to leading insolvency practitioners, restructuring professionals, financiers and large corporates. Ben has worked in the valuation and Auction industry for over 18 years, starting out with a Canadian based company (Century Services), who were primarily involved in the appraisal, capital funding and sale of distressed assets. Soon after he attended Auction School in Billings, Montana USA. He commenced work with The Graysonline Group in 1998 and has experience across a wide range of industry sectors including Mining, Agriculture, Transport, Construction, Earthmoving, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Consumer Retail Products. During his career Ben has personally managed over 3,000 valuation and asset disposition projects, both in Australia and Internationally.
Josh Hallowell – Director Valuations and Mining
Josh is working as Director Valuations and Mining for TIGER ASSET GROUP. He has 12 years experience in managing major valuation and disposition projects under instructions from restructuring professionals, financiers, government departments, corporates and legal practitioners. Prior to joining TIGER ASSET GROUP, Josh was the NSW Valuations Manager at Graysonline, where he lead a large team of professionals. During Josh’s career he has managed over 1,000 individual plant and equipment valuation projects. Category experience includes: manufacturing, mining (both mobile & process plants), earthmoving and civil construction, scaffolding, cranes, access equipment, recycling, agricultural, transport, automotive, marine, plastics manufacturing, printing/packaging, medical, pharmaceutical, laboratories, engineering, textiles, woodworking, food manufacturing, road maintenance, catering, hospitality, warehousing, office furniture, IT, amusement and gaming equipment.
Brad W. Snyder – Executive Director
Brad Snyder focuses on business development and the structuring and completion of complex transactions, including asset acquisitions, sales, financings and brand-related deals. His business career spans 25 years, including 13 years as a practicing attorney. During a 12-year tenure at Gordon Brothers, he led deal teams on numerous key projects, including the acquisitions of Casual Corner, a C$180 M financing for Eaton’s Department Stores, and the repositioning of over 80 department stores following Federated’s (now Macy’s) acquisition of May Department Stores. Snyder was also instrumental in the firm’s launch of a business unit that purchased, sold and licensed brands and other intellectual property. Brands and companies under his direction included The Sharper Image, Linens ‘n Things and Bombay Company. More recently, Snyder was the Operating Managing Partner at Infinity FS Brands, LLC, where he was instrumental in the equity investment in Linens ‘n Things as well as the debt financing for Fredericks of Hollywood.
Bob DeAngelis – Chairman
Bob DeAngelis, a 25+ year commercial finance industry veteran specialising in the consumer product and retail industries. Prior to joining TIGER, Bob was a principal partner and managing director at Crystal Capital and Back Bay Capital, serving as the firm’s Chief Investment Officer and co-head of loan administration and portfolio management functions. Earlier in his career, Bob spent 13 years as part of the executive management team that, in 1993, founded GBFC, the specialty retail finance company which was later sold to BankBoston and ultimately became Bank of America’s secured retail-lending platform. The retail lending unit of BofA is still considered one of the largest secured lending platforms in the country. Bob began his career at Shawmut Bank’s asset-based lending and asset recovery group. He holds a BS degree from the University of Connecticut school of business.
Daniel Kane – US Principal and Board Alternate
Daniel Kane is a Principal, responsible for the day-to-day management of TIGER US operations. He has over 20 years experience in liquidations, appraisals, real estate, intellectual property, and various acquisitions. Previously, Kane practiced for over ten years as a CPA. In addition, Kane currently serves on the Board of Directors of Intracel Holdings Corp. and Vaccinogen, Inc. Previously, he was a board member of Official Pillowtex, LLC (which was sold to Iconix Brand Group) and Unwired Technology (which was sold to American Capital, Ltd.). Kane holds a BS degree from the Stern School of Business at New York University.
