– Closing its doors after 80 years in St. Paul, the family-owned business will begin liquidating its nationally renowned inventory of brand-name tools and equipment on Feb. 13.
ST. PAUL, Minn. (2/12/14)—Contractors and DIY enthusiasts from across the Twin Cities and the Midwest will find rare discounts on millions of dollars’ worth of top-tier tools, equipment and hardware, as well as plumbing, electrical and paint supplies as part of the going-out-of-business sale for historic Seven Corners Hardware, according to Tiger Capital Group, LLC, which is directing the liquidation of the retailer’s inventory and other assets. The sale at Seven Corners’ one and only location at 216 West 7th St. in downtown St. Paul begins Feb. 13.
“For contractors and DIY enthusiasts, in particular, this sale event represents an extraordinary opportunity,” said Arnold L. Jacobs, Tiger Group’s Director of Field Operations. “We’re talking about the crème de la crème of brands in power and battery-operated tools, highly specialized equipment, hardware, plumbing, electrical, paint supplies, masonry tools, fasteners, cabinet hardware, and more. These are products that are rarely, if ever, found on sale, much less offered at discounts of up to 30 percent.”
Seven Corners, which has served hobbyists, homeowners, contractors and other DIY-minded customers in the Twin Cities and beyond since 1933, announced last month that it will be closing its doors as a result of the sale of its property to a real estate developer.
With 10,000 square feet of retail space and 60,000 square feet of warehouse storage, the family-owned business enjoys a national reputation for the depth of its product lines as well as its 640-page catalog. The store sells 200 types of hammers, 400 types of screwdrivers, 170 different files and 4,200 plumbing products. Its second-floor showroom has 900 power tools on display, with a comprehensive array of drills, saws, planers, routers, pneumatics, stationary machinery and other tools.
Seven Corners is a full-line distributor of the gamut of top power-tool and hardware brands, including the likes of Bosch, Delta, DeWalt, Haivala, Hitachi, Jet Equipment, Klein, Lenox, Makita, Marshalltown, Milwaukee, Panasonic, Performax, Porter Cable, Powermatic, Senco, Stanley, and more than 250 others. The store also boasts the largest Werner Ladder inventory in Minnesota, with aluminum and fiberglass extension ladders, stepladders, step stools, step stands, aluminum stages, aluminum extension planks, platforms, scaffolds, articulated ladders, and associated accessories and replacement parts. Seven Corners also carries Bil-Jax scaffolding and accessories.
In addition to the merchandise, Tiger Group will also be disposing of Seven Corners’ furniture, fixtures and equipment. This includes shelving, bins, light pallet racking, and office furniture.
“We at Tiger Group are honored to have been asked to conduct this sale and to work with the Walsh family and their dedicated and loyal staff, who have met the needs of busy contractors and hobbyists throughout the Twin Cities for decades,” said Michael McGrail, Tiger Group’s Chief Operating Officer. “Seven Corners is a beloved business in St. Paul—a rare case of a company that grew into a thriving, modern operation and yet retained its personalized, small-town feel.”
The store will be open throughout the event from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Cash and all major credit cards will be accepted.
